Park at the far end of the parking lot where people are away from your car ... I know what you mean ... someone scratched the bottom corner of my rear bumper couple months ago

1. do nothing
2. park at the far end of parking lots
3. buy a viper 2 way car alarm system so you know when that happens when within a 1 mile range. (Viper 5910)

I feel you...I had my car keyed all the way around and have a door dent on my driver side...and had my tire slashed 3 times in one year...
I started parking far away...not parking next to anyone...don't do anything to make your car noticeable in front of people...like turning on your custom led interiors or stuff like that...if you're car is just way too noticeable...you just don't bring it and have a friend take you...

For many people it may just be where you live. I've had my 09 for almost 3 years without any scratches or dents. My baby also stays in my garage at night & I park away from other cars.

True true I work at the mall so that might be a huge factor...
I'm gonna start parking far away on an edge so that no one can park near me at all!
I do the same thing in any parking lot. I would rather walk a short way than get dents in my cars.

Good idea, but you won't know or be able to do anything about it until after the fact, then you're still left with a ding/scratch or whatnot.
If you're at a place that has carts in the parking lot, park at the top of the hill so they don't roll down to your car. Or if the lot has islands with the trees/grass, park on the down hill side of them so if the carts roll from the top, they run into the curb. Just watch for the cars that you park next to (coupes/trucks/vans-big heavy doors that would be hard to catch on a windy day before hitting the car next to them.) You're best bet is just to park far away or get a corner spot and hug the curb tight enough you'd have kids with it lol
If you think that's bad I dented my 2011 with my iPhone
I had two steel wheels in the trunk, and after a short drive to the tire shop, the wheel dented both rear quarter panel from the inside. Getting "battle scars" on the road is normal. But when someone deliberately scratches or damages another person's vehicle, that's just not right. A while back in Chicago, every vehicle on the block had their tires slashed included our 02' Camry.
^^^ we should probably start some sort of group called, Slashed Anonymus...
As far as a parking lot goes in mall areas...if there's no far away parking available...you park in a spot where both you and the drivers around you have space to open their doors almost all the way (which is rare) but that's just a worst case scenario

I always trie to park away from people and if possible park next to an immovable object (light pole, concrete barrier, etc. ) so you only have to worry about one side of your car. However, stupid always finds a way. As you can see I parked between a pillar and a concrete sign, but the punk still "drifted" into my car in his Ford longed truck. Luckily he hit and got stuck on the hood of another car as he was trying to drive away :face palm:
some jerk keyed my entire left side of my car 5 months after i got it. once i got that repainted 2 weeks later a coworker swung his door into mine. luckily it didnt dent much and the paint scuff their car left came off with some clay. shortly after that on christmas eve my brother backed his car into my rear passenger door. scrapped and dented nicely... still havent gotten it fixed, im just sick of having to repair my car because people are dumb.
after some ass passed me on the shoulder chipping my window and a flat bed trailer launched a softball sized rock at my head(swirved it barely) i no longer follow trucks or any kind if possible. i also do the park away from everyone thing but it seems like theres always someone who parks their junker right next to you. i dont understand why people do this, space out the parking, its not like my car is lonely.
