Weapon R sri xrs

Hello all, I've been looking to get a sri and I'm leaning towards the k&n (69-8613TS) but was wondering if any XRS owners out there have the weapon r (305-159-101) on there car? If so is it a direct fit? Does it come with a heat shield? I did multiple searches on TN, google, and youtube and could'nt come up with any answers.

I'm not sure about the other Xrs owners, but Pen and I are both rockin' the Injen CAI for our Xrs's.

i can tell you about the wep r i have on my 1.8L. friend also had a wep r on his previous car and they are all built about the same way. no heat shield. does come with a ram air kit. everything else is a standard intake. ram air kit can be used to become a CAI so you can switch from sri to cai and vice verse when it rains and such

I like injen cai but the whole idea that the bumper needs to come off to install has me turned off otherwise I would get the injen cai. Did you install or take to a shop?

the bumper is actually really easy to take off and most if not all of us installed our intakes ourselves as its too easy of a job

bumper doesn't really need to come off if you have patience =]

I took off the bumper, but you can squeeze the air filter through the splash guards through the bumper. It is alot easier with the bumper off though.

Ok so now I'm thinking injen. Cheapest I've found them for is $240 shipped (ebay). Is that the best price you think i'll find?

Since you're in California, the Injen CAI is not CA legal...damn commie state. But I've yet to need a smog, but when that time comes, either you take it off or "pay" a smog shop.

Hopefully they will come out with a carb number for it soon. What part of cali are you in?
