Tow Hook Question

I ran a search but could not find my answer.
where would I place an aftermarket tow hook in the rear such as
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/UNIVE...item27bd63830a

I looked underneath the car and I can't find a spot to place it. any help?

you will probably need to make a custom bracket. i'd bolt them up to the frame rail, similar like you would a tow hitch. the last thing you'd want is that hook to pull out when you need it and cause all hell.

I have no idea how I would do that lol.
Can you give me an idea of what kind of bracket I could possibly get that would bolt onto the frame rail? The rail is kind of tucked behind my rear lip too, so that kind of concerned me...

there's no getting a bracket. you're gonna have to use some creativity and make it or have someone with a little more knowledge make it.

I'm running a Curt hitch on my 2010 Corolla S and it's a super easy install. No custom mount, welding or drilling required. I'm using this one....

http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitc...id=20101000097

It bolts right up with 4 bolts in the kit to the unibody chassis rails on each side. It hides nicely up under the S's body kit and you can't even see it unless you back way up from the car. I tow my waverunner and occasionally a motorcycle with it and have had no issues. Install took me about 20 minutes tops.

Haha, sorry I dont want to start any kind of argument. If it's only for aesthetics dont worry about welding it and such! Just figure out some way to bracket it somehow to the car!

Just use 3M double sided foam tape or something so it comes off easily if someone hits the thing rather causing some weird damage to the car. Much rather have some scratched up bumper than bent up metal chassis.

Car is unibody, so there's no real "frame rail" to speak of; car body is kind of like an egg shell.

Besides, if the car were real Japanese built, it'd be like my Camry and have those loops in place already (Ok so they're under the car and not really visible unless I go looking for them)

Or unless it's a dedicated track car.

Good thing for not going through with it.
