Trading in. Good Value?

Hey Everyone so Im sure everyone knows me here by now.
I drive an 09 Corolla CE beige with blacked out tails etc.

I have reached 71867KM on this baby and the car still runs perfectly. I have been looking for a bigger car especially with AWD since the winter is coming.
Here is what I found and i got offered.

I am buying a 2006 Mercedes E350 4Matic with 33000km on it.
Certified Pre-owned
Leather, Nav, parking cameras, sun roof, everything power, heated and air conditions seats. The whole works!!!

I fought with the dealer and tried to get them somewhere that I like on the prices but not sure yet.
Dealer is offering me for my car a trade in value of $10,000
And the Mercedes for $25,900.

What do you guys think?? Input please.
Here is the link to my "ForSale" of the car, It has everything that the car currently has in it.

It's better to sell it privately, as you will get ~$2,000 more than what dealers offer you.

Well I have a very very close family friend who is a sales manager at a dealer. And I will see him tomorrow to see if he can push it up higher.

+1 my dad has an LE same year and color, pretty close to the same mileage i guess. 50k miles on my dads and his private party was around 13k for his when i bought my 2011. so 12k sounds about right for your car. It may take a little longer for you to get the money, but usually you can talk a better deal if you buy the car straight up instead of trading in with it. You can talk some off then make more money on the car too. I got 3k off my corolla then sold my 2005 civic for 4500 (low i know) but i owe 13k on a 20k car and ive only had it for a month. where as if i traded my civic in it would probably have only put me owing 15k on my car.

Doesn't matter the trade in number, just the difference that you will pay. The dealers play with numbers all the time, just get them to give you the difference that you are happy with paying. The other benefit is that you won't have to pay sales tax on the entire amount if trading in, only the difference.

+1, it also doesnt matter what other people think is a good number, as long as u feel like ur getting a god deal and that ur happy with the trade...it might be a good idea to ask them what the "out the door" diffrence is gonna be. The sales tax thing is for certain states tho, i noe in cali u have to pay the full sales tax on the vehicle ur purchasing, doesnt matter if ur trading in or not so heads up there too.
