Reducing Rasp...

After installing the Weapon-R headers + S-Pipe combo (4-2-1) I've had rasp. I've decided to add the Aero AR25 resonator and it reduced most of the rasp. But i've just been scraping the resonator because of the roads here and how low my car sits.

So I've decided to just take it back out, but now the car sounds raspier than ever! Even before I had the resonator added, what can be the possibility of this? The different piping they used to fill in the gap?

Well I'm deciding to either buying the RPM Midpipe (cat+resonator combo) hoping that would reduce some rasp or just buying a Vibrant ultra quiet resonator and adding back my AR25 reonator and having a shop some how weld it closer to the body so it won't scrape? Or can they make brackets so it sits closer to the body?

I'm thinking of doing it like this. In the green circle is where I had my Aero AR25 resonator added, and I'm thinking of adding the Vibrant Ultraquiet in the red circle and replacing the factory resonator with the Ultraquiet

Wondering if this will even fit? (this one is going in the red area)

Dimensions: 4 1/2" x 6 3/4" x 14" overall length
Inlet/Outlet: 2.25"

Any advice, tips, or comment guys?

sounds like that should work, but when it comes to kits I get confused. I just cut and weld, lol. As long as the measurements/specs are the same, SHOULD work.

You think its possible they can make a bracket to push upwards towards the body? Or they can' just weld it a certain way to make it sit up closer? Just so it won't scrape.

they should be able to raise it with the brackets. I tucked mine under nicely (at the muffler) when I did my exhaust.

if you put those two resonators on, the rasp should lessen a great amount, the headers may be another cause of rasp fyi.

Well, it sounds like the headers are causing the rasp :P

I know it did on my car and others...

I bought the RPM header, and am about to get their mid pipe for the Sion XD after a failed Midas mid pipe. I also bought the vibrant 1145 and 1140 plus other exhaust bits. After I get the rpm mid pipe and install the exhaust. I'll let you know how it goes. As of now with the crappy Midas mid pipe, the vibrant 1145 black stealth exhaust, stock cat, and the lack of a resonator it is too loud for me. My Vibrant 1140 ultra quiet resonator was to big to fit under my XD, so I am going to have it installed directly next to the 1145. It will be similar to the Tanabe axle back for the XD. Heres a link to a pick to what I refer. http://cf.mp-cdn.net/2c/6f/f8bd2437e...ca23c58bf8.jpg

How about installing a makeshift skid plate and have the shop use a mandrel bending tool to make the pipe sit higher in the tunnel?
