Short Shifter

Does the Xrs share the same shifter setup as the 1.8 manual models in the cabin?

I'm guessing it most likely does because if I'm not mistaken, the TWM shortshifter is compatible to both the 2.4 and 1.8 manual models for the Corolla.

Well, I was gonna ask if its possible to have a Scion tC1 shortshifter kit in my Xrs?

It would open up the market for one.

Got a hacksaw and a welder? With a little bit of time, you can reduce your shifter action by 60% if you want.

Yes, but I got use to it the first day it was installed, and want shorter shifts.

Someone told me about that, but I'd wanna avoid doing it like that

So does that mean any tC shortshifter will work for ours?

No, I don't think they told you how to do it like I did it. But, do what you want.

Nevermind65, you never did a DIY, I was waiting for it.

Yes the tc1 will fit, just remember that the height of the rod is shorter than the corolla stock already.

Ah oooh ok, time to be on the look out for a tC shortshifter kit...

EDIT:

What all should be included in the kit?

Kind of a waste of time. Seems like the people on this site want to buy and bolt. Doing anything near fabrication would yield a post on page 3 in about 3 hours.

Trying to find alternatives before I pay a high price tag for the TWM for our cars.

I know the turbo XRS in Houston for sure had a cut up re welded up stock shifter and was fine. but was interesting to say the least. But nothing wrong with doing either way just seeing how you view customizing your car. Buy the official part for the car or do it yourself. Its all good

my friends did it on his honda in one class period. it was crap but it worked

That makes sense. This is just my opinion but what happens when you buy a ssk and it doesn't have all the pieces included?
Just my .02 cents.
