Well im trying to find a similar post about rustproofing our car but cant find any so i made a new thread instead.
I got my car june of last year so its like i have my car around a year and a half. At that time i go her, i remember that i payed for rustproofing (around $500) to them and they told me that that rustproofing will have a 5 year warranty, which means that i dont have to worry about getting corrosion up to 5 years.
So im wondering if my car is really free from corrosion or rust. Or, do i have to go to any dealer shop and lift my car to do a spot check?
Usually the warranty is subject to certain conditions and terms and ultimately it's your responsibility to read the fine print and understand what it's suggesting.

Well what they indicate on the paper that i got from them (amerigard plus) is rustproofing electric module. Toyota dealer only indicates in the paper the amount of rustproofing that they did.And the other paper that i got from Amerigard plus indicates the kind of protection they made and the warranty perriod

How much rustproofing did the dealer do? If it's a oil-type spray application like Krown or Rust Check, then the warranty is only valid if the car is resprayed annually.

That makes me a reason to ask after reading that one a few days ago. The dealer didnt tell how much rustproofing they did. As they only did when i got my car, up to now, they didnt remind me about rustproofing.

Well last friday, before i call my dealer, i check my car and i found the electronic module. To be sure, i called them and they told me that electronic module is the one they put on my car for my rustproofing.
So i was thinking if its posible to do a regular rustproofing while having the electronic module. I read some links and they said it would void the warranty of the electronic module.
i have the toyota rust proofing stuff as well. they sprayed under the car and inside the panels. the guy said i have to get it checked every two years to keep the warranty.
By the way, Toyota gives you a 5 year, unlimited mile Corrosion warranty from the factory.
That's true, but I thought it only covered rust that had holes, not just surface rust. Eventually the surface rust will become through-holes so rustproofing would be a preventative measure for the longevity of the car.

You're right, that's all it does, but nowadays cars don't rust like they used to. My husband's 2000 Maxima is just now starting to rust a little bit, and it's been through every Wisconsin winter since new.

mazda provides vehicles with classic rust behaviours. it's been an issue/feature with that brand for a while.

That's good news; I've been under my car a lot and I've noticed an alarming amount of rust. Nothing dangerous yet, of course, but it's rather disconcerting since it's only 2 years old. Then again, it's been through 2 Ohio/Indiana winters... I hate salt...

Rust proofing is a scam. You never really know what they are spraying on your car. I do it myself and it only cost me $10 a year. I buy a can of rustproofing oil at at the auto parts
store and spray it into the holes under the doors and on the inside of the fenders. There are places that will do it for you for $99. You have to wonder what the cost of the product they are giving you and how much of the $99 is labor, overhead and profit.
