Ironically, I used to be a tech for Toyota, lol. However, medical stuff does not allow me to really do physical work on cars anymore, which totally blows. So I am curious if anyone lives around the Bay Area in Cali and knows of good shops?
Thank you!
i know a few good shops around the bay area. mainly around SF and southbay. what are you looking to do?
Oh cool, thanks.
I want to investigate lowering it a bit, 2011 S sit high...and awkward, would like to level it out. But I don't want to lose ride comfort, so I need to figure out what to do there, if possible.
Also I think I will want to do an intake/exhaust as well, but need to investigate CARB approved SRI I am sure...
these places have good rep from many people i know
"The Shop" in San Bruno, CA
SpeedElement in Fremont, CA
VexMotorsports in Santa Clara, CA (he hooked me up with my lowering springs!)
Going to shops for changing out springs here (south bay) I got quotes for around $300+ but there's a guy who does it on the side for $100. Check on Craigslist for him. Search corolla springs. He does the whole swap for $100.

What kind of springs did you get, and how is the ride quality?
I'm currently running on TRD also but since i'm on 17" rims I feel the gap is a little big. But if your on 18" it should look really nice.
I live in Vancouver, BC and our roads arent the greatest. My alley itself is like a 3rd world country roadway.. Potholes everywhere and you cant even dodge them. But the springs can handle all of it.
All in all the TRD springs are perfect for my Base model. They lower it just enough where i dont have to worry about scraping unless on a really steep slope.
Once you get the springs and feel how well you car can handle you will want bars.

Whenever you upgrade to bigger rim, you should use lower profile tires (tires that have less side wall) to maintain the stock overall diameter. So upgrading to 18" won't improve the wheel gap.
NIce that looks good, I may go for the TRD springs... what year is that? Is the drop noticeable?
Read through the springs thread for many pics but here are a few to compare.

I love the stance with my Eibach springs & the ride is excellent.
