Are these coils good?

I just installed a shadowlip and I was wondering if these coils are good??

http://www.ebay.com/itm/07-10-TOYOTA...item2a144ce98d

I asked this guy who works on cars and he said their not good and kinda dangerous...he said if I really wanted coils I should buy the exp ones to be sure Iam safe...he also said I can go with springs and he can get and install for me for about 400....is that exp??

my friend said those coils are cheap and good his bro bought ebay springs for 50 dollars and they are reliable to boost in and take high speed. he said I should get and we can install ourselfs,,,he said it shouldnt be so hard\..

I was wondering if you guys think this is good or should I just go with springs for 400?

I would say no to those. They look sketchy to hell. You can find some pretty cheap K-sports on ebay ranging 120-140. And they give a really nice drop for their price

I wouldn't try those at all... get some that are designed for the car.

As for the springs, $400 is hella expensive. I got mine installed for $100, and you can even do it yourself, plenty of members have done it and saved cash.

Front springs are in and out really easily, but the back ones might take a little bit of time. There's like 4 bolts that keep the assemble in. You shouldn't have a problem swapping the springs yourself, but having a friend there makes it much easier. You don't have to worry about camber unless youre slamming your car. Look for Tein S-techs for the lowest drop possible on springs. They give you a coilover-ish look.

I'm riding H-techs right now and I'm craving some coils sooo bad. but springs are much more affordable

^^^^

You don't need to push the wheels out unless you wish to have the look. You don't need to adjust the camber or offset of the wheels to worry about not rubbing. The stock setup is tucked in enough to have some clearance.

if you want them to stick out then you can get spacers with extended lubs that are hubcentric or do it the better way by getting new rims with a better offset and width

and all is right with the posts above

Each car requires specific spring rates due to the weight and handling characteristics. I would highly advise not to purchase universal springs that are not matched to the vehicle for safety and handling and ride quality reasons.

Have you ever seen a lowered car that hits a bump and it seems like they are bouncing forever? Its not necessarily they have worn out struts, the spring rate could be too aggressive which the car rides on the spring for shock absorption and not the strut.

Yeah get springs and install it yourself...Its a bit time consuming but what else would you be doing on a weekend than modding your car :-)
