Hi everyone, I am in the market for either a used 2010 or new 2011 Corolla S. Is there any major differences between the two other than the facelift? Is it worth the 2 to 3 grand more to get new over used?
Also if I get used, can I get a used Toyota warrenty even though the car will probably be bought from a different dealership?
facelift and MINOR changes... IE USB port. IMO the 2011's are not near as pretty as the 2009-10's. Dealer will sell you a warranty on a stapler if you so wish.

LOL on the stapler. Thanks. I am leaning towards the 2010 because When I talked to a salesman today at my local toyota dealer he told me to basically forget about getting the color I want and then told me that since the corolla is the top selling selling small car there aren't many deals out there on them.
The slight exterior changes to the front and back. A slight interior change, addition USB port to the AUX, better looking radio [upgrade one] and pockets to the side below the stereo are deleted.
Mechanical is the same, but I think the ECM is some tweak updated compare to the '10/'09
I am not sure in US but in Canada, the used toyota warranty can be bought from any toyota dealership ... maybe extended warranty of the original warranty too I am assuming.
I would definitely go for the 2011 Corolla S. I myself have a black 2011 Corolla S. Even with just minor changes to the interior and exterior, it sure did make a BIG difference in my buying decision.
Don't forget that the 2011 doesn't have the power port in the center console under the armrest either. I love that power port for my phone charger.

I found a used corolla S and I found one thats the right color and low milage, 28,000 on a 2010, and when I pulled the carfax report everything looked good and found that the vehicle was maintained by the dealer, the only fault was that after the first owner sold it, the 2nd owner only had it for 4 months. Should this be a red flag? would this deter you from buying it? the dealer is over 1 hour away from me so going back for possible problems would eb out of the question. Thanks for the responses.
No leather steering wheel/shift knob.......only one power outlet, no pockets on the backs of the seats...gains USB/optional bluetooth....just little things like that.
I decided to buy a used 2010 Corolla S. The first one I found was a blue one located over 1 hour away. I contacted the dealer and asked for their best price. After 2 emails, they came down to $13,900. Car only has 28,000 miles so I drove out to buy it. car drove great then started to look it over. The roof had 4 dents of varying sizes but the deepest one was just about the drivers door. The salesman acted like he hadn't seen them before. looked as if someone had banged their fists into it. Decided to see if they would come down even more on the price but before I could the salesman told me he had another customer to help and would be right back. 15 minutes later, no sign of salesman so I go into dealership, put keys on his desk, he didn't even look at me, and walked out.
Got home and there was an email from another dealer with a 2010 S with 24K miles. I had offered them $14,000 and they came back with $14,500 because the dealer had just put new tires on the car. So I went down and bought it. Car does seem to have the steering wander but it was very windy out so that may be why, will check when its calmer out.
Is there any way to find out what TSB's and recalls have been done of the car? The car was a local car traded in for an Acura TL.

Congrats. ANy Toyota dealer can tell you what has been done to the car just by giving them the VIN.
