Beeping when car is turned off- help!

Hi all,

I have a 2009 Corolla Le that's recently started beeping when the car is turned off. It's that same high pitched beep that you hear when you hit the panic butting on your key fob when your car door is open... In fact that's how it started- I accidentally hit that, and now I have this terrible ongoing beep. The beep goes off every 5 minutes or so, and my neighbors are starting to get a little restless-- (it's awfully loud!)

I've checked all the usual suspects- no one's left a phone in there, the lights aren't on, all the doors and the trunk are shut tight, there's no aftermarket alarm, no "check engine/anything else" lights are on (or are burnt out, so that they possibly could be on.) The battery seems fine, and the beeping stops when I'm driving.

What gives? Any help would make my day. I don't have the money to go to a dealer, so I'm trying to take care of this on my own.

Thanks!!

Try unplugging your battery for a few minutes and see if it comes back
