So I've been looking at the cost of the mods and accessories I want to add to my Corolla and I was surprised at how low some of the prices are. Right now my plan is to add the following
Auto dimming mirror
Blue logic hands free phone system
Door sills
Bumper protector
Spoiler
Body molding
Front strut brace
Rear sway bar
Wheels and tires
Aside from the wheels and tires it looks like I can do most of that for right at $1000 or so. All told I would bet I can do everything for less than $2500. That's not bad considering I bought my car for $15,995 because of the Toyotathon event. Normal price tag is 17K. By the time I'm done I'll basically have a Corolla S but for about 1200 to 1500 less than I would have paid. Not bad. I may have to make a trip down to the dealership tomorrow and order something.

so just wondering...why didnt you just get an S?
i paid like 17500 for my s.
The cheapest S they had on the lot when I traded was almost 20K and because I was trading in my POS Focus with a lot of negative equity on it I needed to keep the price down in order to keep the monthly payment of the Corolla in the same ballpark that I was paying on the Focus. I was able to do that, with the monthly price going up only 10 bucks. But to do that I had to get the LE that was on sale. So now I'll just go back and add the accessories and mods I wanted a little at a time, which I don't really mind doing because it sort of gives me something to do with the car. I enjoy that.

yeah, I got a LE and am turning it into an S eventually. Only short black headlight housings at this point. Cheaper and more personal (IE I got lip spoiler vs stock spoiler). Just slowly start tricking her out to your taste!

I would just call it a LE still no matter what. Your car is a LE none the less that's modded. The S still has the black interior and different seat fabrics, steering wheel controls, OEM lip kit, black housing headlights and what not.
You can make your car look like a S, but its still a LE.

I got my 2010 S w/ 15K miles for $16,000 OTD. Wasn't easy, waiting for the end of the month, and show them you're in control, if they want the sale bad enough, they'll budge.
I just got the projector headlights in the mail 2 days ago, & I have no idea how to install them. They look pretty nice tho

I forgot to mention that I'm putting HID headlamps in the car on my list. But it's a small thing, they're not expensive at all and I'm really just doing it for better visibility at night.

The interior on the CE/LE was terrible IMO. I liked the darker interior color of the S a lot more.

The exterior & 5-speed manual with options only available for the S is why I bought the S.
