10,000 Mile Toyota Care Maintenance - Suggestions?

Going in for my first Toyota Care maintenance next week. This will be the 10,000 mile service schedule. I didn't go in at 5,000 just to have the tire rotated, that would have been a complete waste of an afternoon when it can be completed quickly at home.

This oil change interval with Toyota 0W-20 motor oil worked out well, as the coldest weather is to come in a few short weeks. I've personally changed the oil twice already, at 1,500 and 5,000 miles, with Pennzoil Conventional 5W-20(1,500) and Pennzoil Ultra 5W-20(5,000), both with Toyota OEM Oil Filters. These filters are $3.99 at a nearby dealership and at that price, it beats any Purolator, Bosch, or store brand oil filter, with what I think of as superior oil filtering capacity.

So, again, I'm going in next week. Are there any suggestions as to ask for? Perhaps a complementary wash, but really, what mechanically should I be looking for?

Is it outrageous to ask if there is an updated Engine Control Module(ECM) logic? For example, if Toyota has developed a "better" program with updates stemming from concerns/complaints/problems on other vehicles. If there was a new ECM logic, how would I know? I've come to find out that if people don't have to put forth an effort, they don't. I want some leverage for an effort "kick start."

Yes, during your 10K visit, ask if your vehicle has the TSB 0124-11 complied with. This is the ECM flash that gets rid of that ridiculous "deceleration fuel cutoff" problem that makes driving weird on slightly declining roadways on '11 Corollas.. But perhaps your car had this done when you bought it, depending on the date purchased.

They only change it at the 10k & 20k mile interval. I had the same thing happen with my Prius. I changed my own oil at 1k & 5k. I let Toyota change it at 10k & I'll do the 15k change with Toyota doing the 20k change. After that I'll do it every 5k miles myself.

Right on. I couldn't leave those break-in metals and contaminants in there for 10,000 miles.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Wyatt.
What's the point of the oil filter then, if not to catch those break-in metals and contaminants (of which there should be very little in the first place).

Lucky you. I would have them do it every 5k miles too but the service interval for oil changes on my Prius is every 10k miles. On my Corolla S it's every 5k miles but it was before Toyota was including the free maintenance.
