Internet price quote for 2012 Corolla LE in NYC

Went to Toyota.com and build my 2012 Corolla LE with Moonroof option. Submitted a request for Internet quote to my local Toyota dealership. Got email back and said my internet purchase price can be as low as $17893.

I was wondering if that mean I could purchase the car for $17893 or do I have to negotiate even more to get close to that $17893 figure. I not really a good negotiator and if I can get it for that price it is a good price?

that probably that means that 17893 is what they will offer it to you with all available incentives (if there is a cash back incentive, its included... so if you want low apr %, expect to pay a little more)

dont know about the 2012s but i just bought a 2011 corolla s with bluetooth and satellite radio and moonroof package for 18,140

since it was a 2011 i would imagine the price would be lower since theyre trying to move the 11's off the lot

if you are unsure, ask a neighboring dealer for an internet price (even if you dont count on going in to that dealer) just to get a feel

in my experience, unless the dealer is really messed up for some reason they all pretty much stay in touch with internet prices that people are paying everywhere else... they know people do their homework (usually) before coming in for a test drive

Well, I walked into the dealer... got flocked... but anyway the guy who first spoke to me said the new 2012's on the lot are going for 18k... and that was just right off the bat in California so I am guessing that's their first offer and you guys work from that number.

I would email them back and ask what they mean by "could be".

You might want to check out this website to see how your dealership compares to these guys. I live in NC and drove to MD to get my Corolla as they beat the socks off my local dealers. It was worth the drive and I was very happy with the transaction.

Just got back an email from one of their Internet Sales Specialist. And yea they are willing to sell me that Toyota Corolla at $17893 before tax and fees of course. The dealership is BAY RIDGE TOYOTA in Brooklyn, NY which I heard is a very good dealership.

When I build my 2012 Toyota Corolla LE with Moonroof option on Toyota.com, the price came out to $19530. Since I am getting it for only $17893 I save about $1637. I would think that I could have gotten that same price even if I did negotiate with the salesperson face to face but I kinda doubt since I am not very good negotiator. Thank god for the Internet

Thats a good price for a 2012 since they just came out. Go for it. but you could save another $1500 to 2K for a 2011.

i got quotes from all the local dealers for a car with the options I wanted and I had them all negotiate against the price that the lowest dealer quote gave me. the place that gave me the lowest quote in the end and wasn't an ass got the sale. i just came in to look at the car and sign papers. everyone else didn't hear from me again

When I bought my 2010 S model, I went to a few dealers for prices. Everyone wanted to beat the next guy. I pulled out the price they gave me and asked if they could do better.

I got it for under $18k with moonroof etc.

Exactly what I've done for the last 3 new cars I bought. I sent a request to about 7 local dealers & let them fight it out. In the end I had my price that I was going to pay & I stuck to my guns. On my Corolla the dealer that had the car said they couldn't sell it for my price & I said okay & hung up. 30 minutes later they called me back & said okay to my price. The key is to not act desperate.
