Wow, the car is really coming out looking very nice. I'm glad you found this trustworthy shop. Talk about Thanksgiving present! I'm curious. When they repainted your car black, was it because you wanted it black or they must paint it black because that was the original color? Would it been possible to ask them to paint it differently, say white or Nautica blue?
You know, I never even asked about painting it another color. I knew the roof and front would be repainted but if I would have wanted the entire car repainted, I'm sure I would have had to pay extra out of pocket but in all honesty, we really like the black sand pearl.

You got a better paint job than off the showroom floor! haha in segments but the is an incredible piece of hard work
Yeah, no kidding. When I talked to the shop last year, they went over their paint steps and they have a way better quality finish than the factory. They also use a lot more coats too. On my wife's Corolla, I believe the only things that didn't get re-painted was the trunk and the 2 back doors. Everything else was re-painted. More on the car than I originally thought but the guy I talked to a few days ago said they do that because they have to blend the old with the new.

Looks like you found a good shop. The work you posted looks well done and they seem to be taking great pains to keep the interior as clean as possible. It's a big job, but I bet you are happy with it when it's done.

Well, no car today. They are now thinking Monday or Tuesday. The wife was a little bummed but it's not a big deal. A few more days wait is doable.

Waiting is always a killer, but like you said, it's not a big deal especially the good effort being put into it. If they tell me they need another week just to make sure everything is done properly, I'd be happy to wait that long.

I've always heard scratches and the like show up much easier, but black cars look so nice.
Wash it yourself. I park my car outside all the time so I wash mine about once a month for 3 seasons a year. Wash, clay, and then wax all by hand because I don't have an orbiter. If there are little swirl marks, I use a scratch remover on it before waxing and it's good as new. It's time consumming and difficult to do in hot weather unless you're in shades, but the result is rewarding.

We actually have never had an issue with keeping the car clean. We wash it at least once a week or if it needs it soon thereafter but we use stuff that doesn't scratch the paint so we have never had any issues.

To be honest with you, once they got the car tore down, I was surprised at how little was damaged. Yes there was a lot but the deer my wife hot was massive! And like I said previously, she hit it at 70mph without ever even touching her breaks or letting off the gas. Everything happened that quick. She said it was clear one second and then deer going over the car the next.

SHE LIVES!!! The car would have been done Wednesday but they could not get the power windows to work. Since the entire fuse box up front had to be replaced along with other parts, they knew it was electrical but had to trouble shoot for a few days. Fortunately, all it was, was something not plugged in as tight as it should have been. In any event, this car is like new again. I still cannot believe how good of a job they did. Unless you knew the car was wrecked hitting a deer, you would never know. Needless to say, the wife was very excited tonight to get her car back. I have to admit though I kind of want to go out and drive it myself a little bit right now. Here are the finished pictures.
