Should there be a 2nd generation Matrix section here now that the 2009's are hitting the dealers?

Hi there,

After looking last fall we decided to wait for the '09's. We're thinking the XRS for sure. I'm having problems trying to figure if the car comes both 5 speed and automatic, also some of the option packages. The Toyota site even has conflicting info? Whatever, we'll do some dealer looking this week end.

We've got an XRS auto here just in case you're in the sacramento area I sold the manual today.

the reason is actually simple. Its the same powertrain that is in the rav4 2.4 4wd. Cost saving instead of coming up with something new.

that does make a lot of sense, keeps things cheaper for us too, its still a shame it doesnt come in manual though im still debating between the corolla and the matrix anyway so we'll see

Canada

Went to the dealer today to see the new Corolla and the Matrix.

I say that the Matrix body is still a little high. The gap between the frame and the wheel is ugly especially with low profile tires...Definitely needa put lowering springs if I were to buy the new Matrix.

I'm looking into the Corolla XRS as well...

mpg mainly depends on the rotational mass or the weight of the tires
