Got my 09 (1.8L 5-speed manual) in May, and the first couple tanks got sucked up pretty quickly--or quicker than I wanted them to, since the main reason I finally got rid of my beloved '94 4x4 22RE truck was MPG. After that, though, the mileage has been great, even with the near-constant AC demanded by living in Tucson. This past weekend on the drive home from Flagstaff I got just a touch over 44 MPG. Granted it's mostly downhill, but I was pretty giddy. In town with AC it's been about 28, and highway driving between Tucson and Phoenix has come out to roughly 38.

Mileage update - 1.8 4spd auto

I'm up to 11k miles on my 09 since May 9th. The last tank I went 383 miles and put 10.25 gallons in it. That works out to 37.36 mpg.

I was driving up through central Pennsylvania on secondary roads, so I was going between 55mph and 65mph for 1/2 the trip and about 70mph on the interstate.

Re: Mpg??

I have a 2009 XR AWD Matrix (2.4L, 4-speed AT).

I get an average of 8.2L/100km (29 US-mpg, 34 imp-mpg)

Best (90% highway but passenger and cargo space fully loaded with AC on) : 7.6L/100km (31 US-mpg, 37 imp-mpg)
Worse : 10.5L/100km (22 US-mpg, 27 imp-mpg)

- 12,000 km on the odo
- 35 psi front, 32 psi rear
- smooth accelerations
- turn off engine when at a red light for more than 30 seconds
- 50/50 city/highway.

Go to gas station, note your ODO reading (reset tripA to 0), fill up till the pumps clicks off. Then go drive around as much as you like or until you hit empty, next go back to fill up, note the ODO and this time fill up again exactly the same way (until pump clicks off) When you subtract ODO1 with ODO2 you'll get the mileage done (should be the same as what tripA now reads) Just divide that by how many L/gallons it took to fill back up.

eg 325miles / 10gal = 35mpg just substitue KM and Litres
325 / 10gal = 32.5mpg cheers TheDre I totally meant that

I'm sure there are other ways to do it but that works for me.

cheers

Best mileage - all freeway - 70 mph - 39 mpg
Typical mileage - freeway - 35 mpg
Worst freeway mileage (two bikes on back) - 32 mpg
