USA Radio Bezel Removal/Replacement

Hello guys, i am new here and i need some of your expertise.

How do you remove the radio bezel in the 09 matrix with the standard head unit. I am trying to figure out how to remove it so i can install a DD navi unit.

Thank You!

No-one has done it yet.....if you decide to jump into it, please take some pics and notes so that we can get some how-to's going for the 09.

Regarding what cables go where, surely you are going to use some prewired harnesses usually available at electronic store or for example that would be shipped from crutchfield?

Anyway hope it goes well. what kind of Head Unit are you replacing it with and what model matrix do you have?

I got a valor with built in navi, bluetooth, xm and ipod capabilities. Got a great deal from costco.

I have the standard matrix not the s or xrs. I contacted cruthfield and they said the harnes they have for the 08 matrix wont make it for the 09 so to wait a while till they release the 2009 harnesses.......this sucks man i wanted to have all installed asap but i guess there is no choice. Also, i will need to find a way to cover the gap in the bezel (stock radio dimensions are wider than a regular DD) so there will be space to be filledon both sides of the new unit when it gets installed. Again, i will show that on the pics.
Thank You guys

I installed my Alpine CDA 9883 yesterday. The same wiring harness (toyota 87+) from crutchfield works in the 09. There are 4 jacks that plug into the stock HU but only used the left 2 for installing it. I guess the other 2 are for satellite, Aux and steering controls which I don't need anyway.

Now I just need to fab a plate to hide the gaps around it.
