Well after much of a search, and various test drives....I got me a new car. I test drove the Honda Fit and felt it was a to small for me, plus my wife did not like it either. I also went out in the VW Golf, great car, but the fit and finish of the four I saw was lacking. Drove the Mazda 3, but I really thought I would like it, but in the end did not. I went to the Toyota dealer on a whim, and drove the new corolla...nice car, but very boring. I spotted the new Matrix, and took a look at it. Looked MUCH better in person than in the pictures. Drove nice, was peppy, and the handles pretty nice. Plus the dealer was pretty cool about the deal, not real hassles, and got a good deal. Here she is in all her glory.
Hey dude! Congrats!
seems like you did pretty much what i did. i text drove the Honda Fit first, (not enough go power), then i looked at the corolla, and i have always been a fan of the VW Golf and R32 (but i couldnt afford a brand new one (which is wat i wanted if i got it). then i went to the Trix.
i love my car!
have fun with it dude! dont pull out infront of ne trucks..
I notice you have a satellite antenna installed on the top right hatch. Have you considered tapping/connecting into the stock antenna, I hear that there is a connector that terminates in the rear tails area?

I thought the rear disc brakes only came with the XRS?
I saw them in person when they first came out and I was quite impressed. You're right, pictures don't do it justice. However, I nearly fell on the floor laughing when I saw the price tag. The dealer wanted $23,800 for the 2.4L XRS. I was like, "you're effing kidding right?!"
But Toyota started slashing the prices of the Corolla, which also suffered the over pricing syndrome, I'm curious to see if Toyota did the same with the Matrix.
The 1.8L Matrix models come with the brakes from the Corolla XRS with the 5x100 bolt pattern.
The 2.4L Matrix models have larger brakes with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern.
The XRS and AWD add independant rear suspension to the mix as well.
Matrix and Corolla's have huge incentives right now and can be bought for very cheap..
Either way, nice Matrix. Pictures don't do justice, in real life the new Matrix is a beauty.
