Starting to have second thoughts..

Hey everyone. Just got a 09 Matrix XR not long ago. All I did so far was tint and debadged the rear. When I bought the car, it was quick and the only other car I looked at was the Mazda 3, but they didnt deal. I didnt realize that the Corolla was almost the same pricing as the Matrix. At first I thought the redesigned Corolla was the ugliest thing ever...which is why I didnt really look at it. But it is starting to grow on me.

I have been searching around and it seems that the aftermarket is better for the Corolla apposed to the Matrix. I am new to the Toyota scene and drove a Honda Accord before so aftermarket support was awesome. Maybe if I can get some of peoples opinion on what advantage the Matrix actually has over the Corolla and that will get rid of my second thoughts. I think I might go to the Toyota dealer tomorrow for the hell of it to check out the Corolla.

the matrix comes standard with 4 wheel discs vs the corolla only the XRS comes with 4 wheel discs. the matrix has the option of AWD. Matrix comes in a 2.4L in every model but the base, Corolla's only have the 2.4L in the XRS. Matrix has more space for everything (like the post preivous to this one, Versatility!) the corolla has the clock in the gauge cluster as to the matrix having the clock under the radio unit.

All these differences and features shouldn't mean a thing, honestly you shouldn't need convincing, if you feel like the matrix doesnt suit you, it doesnt suit you. no need to trick yourself into liking it or searching real hard for a reason to like it.

lol weird...at first i thought the redesigned matrix was hideous and i liked the new look of the corolla (s and xrs) but now i don't really like either.

but i think the matrix has better stuff than the corolla...the matrix has variable intermitten wipers for the 2.4L models while the corolla xrs doesn't. matrix has independent rear suspension for some models while corolla still uses the torsion bar even for the xrs. the corolla does look nice tho, so is the matrix...but the matrix has blindspots while the corolla has a good view all around. there's other stuffs too but too tire to type lol

Well I never really noticed how much more equipt the Matrix comes. I looked at the Corolla today and alot of things are the same. I did notice though that it had rear drums and stated above except the XRS. The rear visability does really suck in the Matrix, and I have a harder time backing up then in any other car, but I am getting used to it. I also found out that we barelly get any TRD stuff here in Ontario, which really sucks.

the matrix blind spot isnt anything i'm worried about, i use to drive a 350Z so compared to that the matrix has no blind spots!
