Arrow Were To Put My Subs and other things

hey whats up
this is my topic on this thread.

i just got the matrix and im trying to find a place to put the sound system from my old car into this.
i need to find room for:

two 12 inch subs
one amp (i may get another, so maybe 2)
one capacitor

these are my obstacles:

1) my matrix is the base model and doesnt have the stock sub in the back, so it doesnt make it an easy switch for the subs.

2) i live in toronto, canada. we have long winters which leave my car (and everyone else) with salt stains and slush/water on the floor. this would be the worst place for anything electrical.

3) this is an everyday car for me, however sometimes need it for food deliveries, room for hockey bags and paintball equipment, etc. this trunk is very valuable to me so i cant put anything in the middle of the trunk.
*everything needs to be hidden or out of the way!*

im been looking on this forum and a few others, but the 09 is still fairly new and there is little help on the problem im facing.

any input would be much appreciated.

thanks

Im having the same issues. I have 2 10'. I am from Northern Ontario so I know what your saying about the winter, but in my old car the wires were ran under the carpet and no issues. I dont think you will be able to put your subs anywhere else but the trunk. I just need to find a place to ground my amp.

so you want to install subwoofers but you cannot use the trunk space and you cannot run wires under the floor. yyyyeeeeeaahhh.

i have no problem with wires running under the floor. i dunno were i said this would be a problem?

its when the wires connect to the amp or the amp itself coming in contact with water is what im worried about.

but someone on another forum gave me the idea of encasing the amp in a fiberglass, which i might do.

as for the subs, its going to be some homemade custom boxes

automotive amplifiers cool by convection, aka by air blowing on top of it and carrying off the heated air from the cooling fins. Encasing it in fiberglass is a bad idea. Seems to me you are overthinking the snot out of the install.

i enjoy my music so i sacrificed my trunk. and plus i'm too lazy to get smaller subs or make a box that is smaller. (i did all the installation myself so it might be kind of ghetto.)

my MTX Thunder 250D amp.

15" MTX Thunder 7500 subwoofer.
