Talking Quieter Tires????

One of the things that I have tried to improve about my Matrix is the road noise. I have soundproofed the doors and hatch. This improved it greatly, but I am beginning to suspect that the OEM tires may be noisy. They came with Bridgestone Turanza 215/45/17 tires on factory Toyota rims.

Has anyone replaced their tires yet, and if so is there a particular make anyone can recommend that improves road noise. Thanks!!

I have an '04 Forester and an '09 Corolla that are both are running General Altimax HP tires. Both vehicles handle much better with the Generals and the tires are spooky quiet on most asphalt. Regardless of speed, I literally cannot hear them on most asphalt highways, leaving just wind noise. Just be warned that some concrete highways (the type with a textured surface) make the tires sing very loudly, although no more so than the performance tires I use on other vehicles I own. I've driven about 10K miles total so far on both sets and cannot be more pleased. Would buy more without hesitation. If it matters for you, snow/ice traction was excellent this past winter.
