09 Vibe/Trix 2.4 Dip stick said WS but the Manual said it is T-IV

Should I trust the dip stick or trust the manual.

Dip stick marking said WS

If it is WS, then it should be a life time fluid.

but the Pontiac manual said its a T-IV fluid .. what does the 09+Matrix with the 2.4L automatic manual specified?

Appearently WS cannot mix with T-IV so it would be a gamble if I go to a Pontiac dealer later down the road to do the fluid change.

All 2009 Matrix and Corolla models use WS, I can't see the Vibe using T4 when Toyota uses WS across the entire line now, especially when the dipstick says WS as well.

I'd use WS if I were you.

Jeff

You are the 3rd person said the exact answer-to use WS. Just keep our finger crossed we don't need to do any R&R with our transmission under warranty. The fun part is GM have 7 years power train warranty.. what good if they gonna put the wrong factory approved fluid,ie T IV

The funny part is the Owner's manual from Pontiac stated transmission fluid change in ever 90 000km or 5 yrs. Lube and oil filter change every 3 months or 8000km which ever come first. I think Pontiac is just do a cut and past all the spec from 03-08 vibe owner manual.

WS in 2009 Vibe

I noticed the same thing... WS on the dipstick and T-IV in the owners manual. I took it into the dealer, and after a bunch of searching, they found a TSB that stated that the owners manual was wrong and that 2009+ Vibes use WS transmission fluid. There's a guy on BITOG (trans fluid section) asking about using T-IV in a Vibe, but I can't get registered there for some reason. If any of you could give him a heads up to read the dipstick and not the owners manual, we might save a transmission.

TSB 08/08 said it should have been WS instead of T IV
