Canada TPM tire valves ?

I would like to buy a set of mag wheels next summer. My car has steel wheels with TPM sensor valves (Matrix '10 XR)

I heard that the valves cost 100$ each !

Are there any aftermarket valves I could fit on my new wheels next summer ?

Or can I have the valves transfered from my steel wheels to my alloy wheels upon tire change ? I would then put regular valves on my steel wheels and tolerate the tpm light in the dash during winter.

Thanks

not sure about the matrix but for the tacoma the alloy wheel and steel wheels have different TPMS valve stems. But I have heard of people being successful w/ steel to alloy adapters. Run a search in the 05+ tacoma section and you'll find something.

Also, try calling the tirerack.com. they'll know what will work.

I dont see why the valves can't be transfered, but I'm not sure. There is a write up somewhere on how to make a small chamber you just put in your trunk that will keep the TPMS low tire light off in your dash.

I swapped my tpms from steelies to my alloys no problems. enkei alloys are a oem option so it might not be the case with aftermarket wheels though. You can get them to test one perhaps and take it from there.
