Canada I visited TWM performance this past weekend...

Hey All,

This weekend I visited my in-laws in Quebec. I know TWM Performance was about a 30 minute drive from their place, so I decided to drive down and check out the TWM shop.

It's located right next to a drag strip in Napierville. I walked in, and it was a nice clean place. I was expecting a store, but turns out it's not a store. It's a shop with an office where the design the parts, and storage for tons of boxes of short shifters, parts and lots of nice looking shift knobs 'fresh from the oven.'

I ended up buying an M1 Abrams stainless steel knob that's nice and heavy (looks identical to a Ferrari one), and a new set of bushings for the transmission in my wife's Echo. I was also talking to the guys there and told them if they needed a guinea pig for an '09 Matrix short shifter, to let me know, since I'm sure there will be plenty of interest from guys here and in other Matrix forums for a short shifter, since the TRD one does not get good reviews. They have a SS for the '09 Corolla XRS, but although it's the same engine on the XRS and Matrix XR/XRS, the short shifter will not work on the Trix. Bummer. I met up with one of the guys in the Corolla forum who drives an '09 XRS, and the TWM SS he has in the car is phenomenal. Feels solid. So, I hope in the near future they'll call me up so I can volunteer my 09 Trix to be the test bed for a TWM short shifter.

Overall, a nice experience visiting TWM and you can tell from what you see in their shop that they make EVERYTHING they sell in the best quality possible. I was very impressed. I'll be looking forward to buying more of their products in the future.
