matrix air intake and exhaust system?

Hi i have a 09 toyota matrix s. And i am looking to modify it a little. I want to put in a new air intake, what would be better? CAI or SRI? and what company?
Also I wasnt to put in a new exhaust system and I am having trouble finding compatable exhaust systems for the 09 matrix s. the only one i have found is a magnaflow cat-back system. Are there any other ones? Or do I have to get a custom made one? and if so how do I go about doing that?

Also is it true that the 08 Scion xb have the same engine? if so would it be ok to get a air intake for that car and use it for the matrix?

Thanks

K&N 69 series CAI is the choice.
I have heard there is not much benefit from SRI for normal drive (unless you race), but the engine sound.

Check this link out. I've dealt with these folks before for other vehicles and it's hard to beat the price.

The link shows a photo, but it appears to be of the previous generation with left side exhaust outlet.

For that price you might as well get a custom exhaust done. I got mine for 350. But I did know these guys. Probably saved me 100. Still would have been cheaper than the magnaflow.

I am a corolla guy.....but I do have the 09 S with the 1.8 engine. My area has really bad winter with tons of snow and pot holes, that's the reason I went with Short Ram Intake. I am running weapon r intake with a magnaflow muffler on mine. Here is a video on how it sounds.

Magnaflow mated with K & N Intake

Hi,
I had my exhaust redone locally and had the Magnaflow CAT back system put in. Wow! I like it very much.
I am getting the K & N CAI installed this Friday 'cause they had to bring it in. I had boughta 2003 Matrix XR-AWD when they were first brought out by Toyota and had the AEM CAI installed. I liked it. By the way I have it for sale 'cause it won't fit my 2009 ($150 + shipping and it's yours).
Anyway I'm excited to feel the difference with everything installed. I already feel the difference with the exhaust done.
I have 18" custom wheels with very low profile tires which I use in the summer only so it'll be even more exciting to find out how the ride is. I may have to look at springs and tune the suspension a bit.

I'm looking for an underdrive pulley kit for my 2.4L XR-AWD, so if anyone knows where I can get this kit please do tell.

Thanks and I'll keep everyone informed to the final results...

All done

I have a 2009 Toyota Matrix XR-AWD with the sport package. I had the Magnaflow Cat back stainless exhaust installed 2 friday's ago and the K & N CAI installed on this last friday.
All I can say is WOW . I'm very happy with the results. The car launches quite nicely and has a significant response from the pedal. I like it. I can't wait for spring when I can put my 18" low profile wheel/tires on and see how it handles.

I am looking to add the underdrive pulley kit so that'll be sometime in the next few weeks.
