For all you 5spd matrix owners

Hi All,

matrix newb here..

I'm hoping the XRS will be a fun car that I can "toss around in corners" , and do some nice heal toe'ng and have a wee bit of fun in ?

I'm thinking of a 2009 XRS manual 5spd and wanted to know how short the throws were ? Do i need a short shifter kit ? I really like the position of shifter as its similar to the Honda siR.

From what I've read, it appears this matrix has more "umph" than the 5spd Honda Fit ? Pls do tell

I'm also considering an Audi A3 6spd manual. dunno which has more space.

Thanks,
sj

XRS accelerate is fine, the shifting is not so smooth, especially doing down-shifting unless you revive higher and wait a little bit before engage the clutch. Heal-toe is fine when you brake harder and revive harder that I normally shift from 5 to 3. Maybe myself only, not the car.
Because of bigger torque, I don't have to shift often, I can start up at 2nd gear at stop sign, I can normally corner at 3rd gear with no problem.

I drive 2006 Accord as well, I found it is very smooth no matter I do down-shifting or Heal-toe, accelerate is good. I was told that Honda has better and smoother mechanism for shifting gears.

A3 should have more horse power, but much more expensive.
