2010 Matrix, 279 miles and check engine light!

Hey,

Last night roadside assistance towed away my week old 2010 Matrix with 279 miles because the check engine light was on the other day solid for about 5 miles in the morning and 5 miles at night ...was oddly changing pitch idling as well. I was just wondering if there is there a history feature to the check engine light? ...cause when I put it on the truck sure enough the light had gone out. Any ideas? It's an automatic.

The actual CEL code will still be stored in the ECM, irregardless if the CEL lamp is illuminated or not. Make sure the grab/write down the code before it gets erased with a scanner - as you can chose to leave the code on the ECM or erase it.
