Problems changing reverse bulbs, please help! '09 Matrix XRS - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Hi guys,

My brother and I spent a good hour today trying to take out the reverse bulb housings in order to put new bulbs in. Those things just won't budge... checked the manual to verify that we have to turn the damn things counter-clockwise. They won't budge in ANY direction WHATSOEVER. My brother got frustrated and used pliars-- they still didn't budge, and the handle snapped off

. What makes it harder is that it's sort of hard to reach.

Can anyone please give some insight on this on how to remove them? Thanks a million.

Hmm I don't can see what the problem could be. It should just be a simple turn and you pull it out.

What kind of bulbs are you going to swap it out with?

Yeah, I thought it would be easy... never had this problem... the damn thing just won't turn at all (feels stuck) on left and right side. Nearly sprained our wrists from trying to turn it.

We are replacing it with brighter LED reverse bulbs.
