My New'09 Matrix

So I went down last Thursday and looked at it, test drove it, fell in love with it. Done most of the paper work Thursday night and and picked it up Friday.

I has a few cosmetic flaws but not too bad, the dealer buffed out some stuff and I noticed the driver seat has a small hole in it from what looks like a cigarette but is only about 1/16'' diameter.

I going to put seat covers at least on the front, might put one on the rear seat later, though.

It's a stick shift and it's the smoothest shifting manual I have ever driven, I really like it.

Congrats on your purchase. The matrix is an excellent all round vehicle. I especially like the fact that most of it's parts are interchangeable with the 09+ Corolla and 09+ Pontiac Vibe. So if you're ever looking for some spare parts in the future you can always look up those alternative solutions.

I believe I will like for many years. However, there is one thing I don't like about it and that is road noise.
We took took it on it's first (since we got it) long road trip and the road noise was kinda loud, more that our Camry, Trooper and Saturn SW2 I had. But all the smaller cars I test drove seemed to have the same problem,06 & 09 Corolla, 06 & 09 Matrix (different one), 05 Civic, all about the same. When I'm alone it's not that bad cause I got the radio turned up a little, but when my wife and son are in there I don't listen to it or have it turn low.

It done real good, road smooth, the new CC I had the Toyota dealer install worked great (they had an accesories place install it ,though).

Before we left I fill it up till I could see gas at the neck, zero'd it and drove 274.4 miles round trip and when I filled it up I tried to fill it up the same way but it gets aggrivating because as soon as it starts pumping it shuts of. It was very close to where I filled it before and it took 7.6 gallons, 36.1 MPG from my calculations.

It may get less than that but I thinks that's pretty close, 34-36 hiway.
Thought about getting a Scan Gauge II for it.

smoothest shifting...????

I must have a problem with my 09 S, because it is clunky as hell. my 97 saturn was a lot smoother.
