Wider Wheels & Air Pressure

I have 205/60R16 tires mounted on 16 X 7 aftermarket alloy wheels on my 2000 Camry LE. I drove about 45K miles on the tires and the tires had worn. Specifically, the shoulders wore out faster than the center of the tread, which still had some tread left.

I have always made sure that the tires were inflated to 30 PSI, which is what Toyota recommended (based on stock 205/65R15 tires).

As my aftermarket wheels are wider than stock, would my tires have worn more evenly if i had increased the air pressure a bit?

I want to make sure the next set of tires will last and wear evenly.

Thanks,
