Hi everybody, I'm in process to buy a 2015 Venza XLE V6 with only 6k miles. I don't think venza have any mechanical problem but my biggest concern is wheel bearing problem as I saw some thread about it. I just wondering that bearing is really biggest problem with venza or not? BTW, carfax show that the car is non accident and drive in texas area, and I live in GA. I believe that climate and weather may affect the bearing also?
I had a leased Venza 09 basic model AWD 4 cyl had it for 39 months and 40.000 miles other than regular oil changes never had any issues with it. I loved it plenty of room, super comfortable, nice and smooth ride. The 4 cyl was a bit sluggish for the size of the car that was the only con.
I have friend who has a 2013 V6, she drives in snow and ice, with no issues. I have a new to me 2011 with original bearings, non accident per Carfax, with a hitch, check it when I change to snow tires, per mechanic, still good as new. Both Venza are daily drives.
I think you have made a solid choice in this vehicle. The 2015 model should have any kinks worked out that existed on prior years. It is one of the highest demanded Toyotas out there. In addition to that, you should be covered under the remaining bumper to bumper factory warranty up to 60k miles or 6 years whichever comes first.
Does your specific Venza come with power lift gate? If you don't have the OEM window sticker, you can plug your VIN in KBB website to find out about the standard equipment for your specific Venza. If OEM key fob(s), I thought each would come with a physical key inserted in each key fob, yet replacement (unless OEM Toyota) may not have the physical key... I guess that is my thought about identifying your key fob is OEM or replacement without seeing a picture of it. :|
They must have replaced it with another remote. Both of my key fob has trunk button. I'm assuming you have power lift gate...button in the dash to open/close the trunk.
Both key they gave me did not have trunk release button at all! I try to use the button in dash but it does not work at all, when I try to click it, it just sound " beep" and nothing happen. Do you think wrong keyfob could lead to this problem?
Yes 2 rear wheel bearings replaced at 130,000Km even though I have great tires and have had wheel alignments. Seems our japanese cars are made with cheap Chinese parts now.
Its a fairly heavy car, so actually that's not GREAT, but it isn't stupid ridiculous either. At least its a pretty cheap job nowadays. Easy enough to DIY if you're at all inclined (you basically just need a torque wrench and a few simple tools).
I dont think the keyfob has anything to do with your liftgate not working. Did you check the liftgate override button on the dash?
Something sounds fishy here if you dont have the button on the remote.
I did try to but won't help. Just call dealership I bought and they said bring it in any toyota dealership to see what they could do. Since I have 7 days to try the car, if any problem could not solve within the period, I just return it back
See the button on the bottom left, beside the small storage compartment and under the set you posted a picture of? This stupid button disables the tailgate controls, see if it is pushed in. That's usually the problem.

Still doesn't fix the fact that you dont have a trunk button on your keyfob. I have remote starter and it also has a button for trunk release so I never use the one in the OEM fob anyways. Maybe dealership can swap you two new fob?
I agree, if it might have been a lease turn in and the remote was damaged, it could have just had the cheapest thing bought for it to get it to sale. Either way, this model should have the rear hatch opening for you and should have two remotes, so like you said, hopefully they will do right by you. Best of luck. Keep us posted. Sounds like a great car!
I will update as soon as tomorrow. Just wondering your LE model even have trunk release button on remote? My friend bought one brand new 2015 Venza LE and it did not come with trunk release.
After talk and work with my dealership. They are agree to replace the keyfob with the right one, but they only replace one since they said other 2 work just fine except no hatch release button and they tell me that consider 2 keyfob not include hatch release as sub key for the car. So I think at least they will get me the right one so I just accept it. BTW the dealer quote for new fob + program at 340$ included tax (7% at my place).
Glad they are at least giving you one remote. Don't be afraid to go out to eBay and look for a remote. I have done that a couple of times to for a fraction of the cost. And usually they can be programed without taking them to the dealer. Just search youtube. That is if you find yourself needing the other one. You may be content with just having one. Enjoy your new car! We sure do enjoy ours.
