Thanks, man I am enjoying it. I've gotten quite a few compliments on it already. I took it to the dealership to have the alignment checked and there were half a dozen mechanics and a couple of salesman checking it out.

Honestly, the only thing I still want to do is paint the calipers and wheel hubs, that's it.

Well, I'm not suprised in the least... It's a head turner for sure!!! Great job!

What color are you thinking of painting the calipers/hubs? They're probably silver now (if it's the same as mine was)... correct?

New Tints Installed

Here are some comparison photos of stock against photos with my new Lamin-X "Gunsmoke" tint installed on the head and tail lights. They came out really awesome!

To be honest, not by much at low volume, like 15-20. With it up at 35-50, I notice a big difference though.

As I said in my other post.

Once I got it done, I gave it my acid test; Van Halen, "Eruption" into "You Really Got Me" cranked to max and it sounded f'n awesome. I can actually hear the bass, the mid-range isn't all muddy and the highs are sharp and clear.

Anyone who enjoys listening to music and wants to hear it the way it is supposed to sound, owes it to themselves to replace those stock POS speakers!

Yes, but it depends on your amp output.

LB. I have 1 Amp and an EQ installed in my Venza. Do you think that by me upgrading the speakers with the speakers u installed it would sound much better. I can't pass 40 when I do the stock speakers start sounding distorted

Anything would sound better than the stock pos speakers! The Polk Audio speakers I got are good, but they are not a high wattage speaker, if you are running a lot of power you may need to go with something else.

Here are the specs:
DB691 6" x 9" 3-way

  • power range: 10-100 watts RMS (300 watts peak power)
  • frequency response: 35-22,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 93 dB

DB651 6.5" 3-way

  • power range: 6-60 watts RMS (180 watts peak power)
  • frequency response: 35-22,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 92 dB
So depending on the output of your amp, these may be great for you.

LB I can't find the instructions you gave me to put the lamin-x film on the fog lights. Can you please help ?

I took an 8" x 4" sheet and cut it onto (2) 4" x 4" pieces. Then I cut 4" diameter circles out of those. When you go to apply the film, make sure the surface you are putting it on is completely clean and dry and once you peel the film, hold it by the edges so you don't get a gnarly fingerprint on it. For a small round surface like the fog light, you probably don't really need a misting bottle, but a little mist on the glass surface won't hurt. The mist will make it so the film doesn't stick to the glass right away and will allow you to center it. Once you have it where you want it, start applying pressure with your thumb to the center to get it stuck in place. Then hit it with a hair dryer on high and hot. You want to form the front to the shape of the lens and push the water out. Push from the center out to the edges. I hit the edges with the heat and stretched the film around the sides as well to be sure no white light could leak out. You could probably cut it a little smaller and just put it on the front face if you want.
