98 Avalon Maintenance

Ok so I have a 98 Avalon XL that I got used with 73k on it in August of 2003. It was very well cared for. Now it has 115k and I've been keeping up with the regular oil changes and did the 90k scheduled maintenance at the dealership. Last week I had the spark plugs and wires changed, the fuel filter changed, and the air filter changed.

Is there any other preventive maintenance I need to do? I'll be getting the timing belt and water pump changed when I get some money (which will probably be around when it has 120k). What else needs to be done, if not now then in the future?

mine is 15% black... they said something about titanium but i dunno what they were referring to. Mine also has a 5yr warranty. Is your car the lighter beige color?

What do you mean by "differential service"? I was thinkin bout doin a transmission flush too... heard it'd probably be under $100 to do.

Is your car Biege also or silver?

Mine is the lighter color. I think I'll go with the 15% yours looks good. I have Gold emblems and did a painted gold stripe, thats why I wondered about going with a different color. I'll post a photo once I get the car tinted and do maguires 3 step. I just picked it up two weeks ago. The trans service is one part and the differential is also right there I would recommend both. My car is running much smoother since I did mine. It was smooth but now is really smooth. I also put the k&N filter in the air cleaner box to increase mpg and performance and found that the car smoothed out even more. I'm amazed how smooth the ride is. I've driven mid 90's camry's over 500k and learned a lot about the Toyota's, but the Avalon is the best yet and Insurance was $200 less a year than my 96 camry???? I changed the strut mounts because there was a little clicking in the front, now it's perfect, the original struts are still excellent. I changed the rear sway bar bushings and got rid of the clunk over bumps, this is common on Camry and Avalon and costs about $10 bucks. I'm goinig to flush the coolant system this weekend it looks a bit dirty but is the red toyota coolant and tested ok. I may drop my sound system in, have'nt decided the factory is ok. I will probably put a spoiler on to apease my wife about driving an older person's car. I'm 36 and think it's much nicer than the camry.

I like those wheels so much I think I am going to buy a set. I was looking at a lot of the newer Avalon and Solara wheels, they just screemed grandpa too much. I will have a Brian clone. That car is my new wallpaper!!
