Lightbulb Alternate Solution to connect mp3 player

I don't know how to answer your question about replacing the stereo but have you considered purchasing one of those devices (inexpensive, $20-30?) that connect any audio device to a car radio, and it's all wireless. You just set the radio to a specific station and you can hear whatever is on any mp3 player (virtually anything with a headphone/earphone jack). In other words, no need for a casette tape player in the car.

Many of the popular ones are for iPod but they have universal ones.

Damn iPod..
