New battery dying on 2001 Avalon

I am the executor on my mom's estate and I am waiting to take ownership of her 2001 Avalon with 15K miles. It is a beautiful car that a little old lady literally drove to church and the store. Hear is my issue. The car is sitting for days without driving and until I get the insurance transferred there is not much I can do. The battery died, click click. I put in a new battery and after a few weeks the same thing, it died. The guy I got the battery from said that with the 01 Avalon it needs 30+ mins per day to keep the battery up because of the electronics drain in this model. That does not sound right. The alternator checked ok. Any help is appreciated...Mike

Must be something on, check trunk light, interior lights, glove box. You might need to hook up a voltmeter and see what the voltage draw is when everything is supposedly off. If the draw is high, pull fuses till it stops drawing, then you have found the culprit. You can unhook the battery in the short term untill you get it fixed. Draining a battery to nothing is a killer on the battery.

I thought I should reply back on what transpired. I took the car in for an electic check out. I need to learn how to use a meter some day. In any case, there was no parasitic draw. The car was not getting driven enough and with all the new computers, etc on the car it was draining the battery. The guy recommended a trickle charger or a part called a battery guard to keep it up and ready to go. We have not had any issues since. Thanks.
