Gen1 '97 Avalon Rear Control Arm Bushings Went Bad!!!

After spending almost $1000 to get a new rack and pinion, CV axle, and steering knuckle installed, I find out the rear control arm bushings are worn out! After the work I had to take it to be aligned and the tech showed me how loose they were. In the near future I will have to replace them. My questions is, can you buy just the bushings, or do you need to replace the whole arm? The arms that went bad were the ones where you make the adjustments for the alignment. Thanks in advance.

I bought new one's for my '99 as well. If you can find a discount Toyota parts source, they are not too bad. I did not find the bushings, but I did not look real hard either. I assume they are the same as the Gen3 Camry?

Can you buy these control arms aftermarket or are they a dealer only part? I was hoping maybe Moog makes them or something. It would make it a whole lot cheaper for me.

No idea, I bought mine from Toyota. The local supply guys could not find a listing. If they are Gen3 Camry parts, I would think somebody would list them.

Look here:http://toyotanation.com/forum/t42732.html No idea if the Camry stuff is the same, but I would think so.

I think less than $80 for the set.

By the rear bushing set from Energy Suspension and only use the one's you really need. That would be the cheaper way.

They may have been $80 each, it's been a while. You should be able to find somebody to sell wholesale to you, if you want the Toyota parts.
