Sometimes a bulb socket gets corroded or the connection is bad. This causes a signal fault even though the bulbs are OK.

What has worked for me is to change all the bulbs - tail, stop (including the middle one), blinker, & license plate lights. Then it's done for 4-5 years.

I am having this problem too on my 97. Found two of the brake lights burned out, replaced them, all seem to work, but the dreaded sensor light is still on. My next thought is to pull bulbs and do some sanding of the contacts, as well as keep replacing bulbs like Avalontom suggested.

Don't know why that light bothers me as much as it does, but I want it out.

You can usually correct the problem by slightly bending the tangs on the sockets inward to make a tighter fit on the bulbs. The tangs become loose over time due to heat.

did you replace your bulbs with LED types? Has anyone experienced the bulb out light when replacing the signal and brake lights with LEDs?

What worked for me finally was to change out all four bulbs for fresh, new, matching bulbs from Walmart. Turned off the car, started it up again, that did the trick!!!
