Fixed my rear suspension noise for $10
I had terrible noise from the rear suspension, sometimes it sounded like the whole rear end was going to come apart. I had read so much about strut mount noise on these cars, so I had purchased Quick Struts (strut, spring, mount, etc. all together) and was ready to put them on. But I found a few posts mentioning the rear sway bar bushings causing noise, so I replaced those first. And it got rid of about 95% of my suspension noise!
They actually cost me about $20 because I had to get them from the dealer, none of the parts stores had them. So if you are going to do this, make sure you order the part before you plan on doing the work. The dealer was surprised that he had them in stock, too. But they are usually around $8-10 for the pair from a discount auto parts store.
They are pretty easy to put on, just two bolts on each side of the car. We took the rear wheels off to make the job easier, but that may not be necessary.
We did break one of the bolts, so go slow and use penetrating before you start to take the bolts out. Luckily the one we broke (rear bolt I think) had pretty good clearance behind it, so we were able to drill it out and put a new nut on behind the original welded one.
Hope this is helpful.
