Gen1 drivers side windows

I have been on this forum for a while, but i was posting with my 1992 corolla, i was side swiped and nailed into the gaurd rail and that car was totaled, i walked away (considering what had happened) alright, nothing broken. that car held up a lot better than i would have given it credit for. anyway, i got my moms 1998 avalon and aside from a really bad repaint before we got the car, both windows on the drivers side just dont work, and the passenger side windows are slower than they used to be going down.
does anyone know if the window motors are interchangeable with like the solara, or the camry or even like the sienna?? i assume i need new window motors but i havent had a chance to pull the door panel off yet. but i would like some direction.

thank you for your help

1st thing to do is at night time when you can see your dash lights, try to move the window. Does the dash lights dim a little when you move the window switch? That will tell you if power is getting to the motors or not or if the motors are "open". In mine, sometimes the window physically gets stuck in the tracks and may need freeing up to work. Check these things out before you go to replace the motors.

Make sure the motors are getting power. Sometimes the wiring between the drivers door and frame gets frayed or broken.

i tried both switches, and the drivers front doesnt dim the cluster at all but the rear does, i pulled the rear drivers door panel and i think the motor is just stuck, but i dont know where i should grease it, i even did the trusty "just bang the motor and it will work", nothing. and i tried taking the drivers door panel off to see if a switch is fried or something, but there was one thing holding it on, i took off the two screws on the inside door jam, the 4 at the bottom, the pin on the outside, the one screw on the arm rest, and the frame of the door handle on the inside. it wouldnt come off, even after some pulling. i didnt want to break something so i quit while i was ahead. any ideas on the last thing holding it on?

oh and i checked the wiring a little and nothing is really rubbing or fraying at all, all clean wires.....

should i grease the track maybe? or use WD-40 or a silicone spray??? i dont want to damage anything obviously, and i am not 100% up on what is best for window motors.

thanks

Down load the Gen_4 Camry (almost the same as Avalon) Body and Body Electric Sections from the link below. The Body Section has procedures for greasing the window parts, the Body Electric Section the procedures for diagnosing the power window electrical systems.
