Question '96-- A/C smell removal-- where to spray?

Hello,

Can someone point out location for A/C inlet duct ? I need to kill the fungi that make pee smell after using AC. I guess somewhere near driver seat.... I can spay in alcohol or 10% Clorox in mist form ---or spray using a drain port.

Also, has anyone try to open up A/C drain from underneath of car? Does it improve get rid of smell? I am thinking A/C exchanger may clog with dirt and pick up moisture-- that fungi/mold loves. '96 Ava does not have cabin filter.

Thanks.

Put the AC on recirculate, and spray a the base of the firewall, in the passenger side floorboard. That where it sucks air in! Then change to fresh air, and spray the vents at the base of the windshield on the outside of the car.. I used lysol!

I agree but Lysol kills mold and fungi.

I agree but Lysol kills mold and fungi. With 50% alcohol, I doubt to kill these pathogen-- Alcohol tends to work by removing water molecule (excessively drying them) from the cellular structure .

After I sprayed Lysol, I left window open overnights. Next day, I do not smell any with AC on & window closed.

It was several days ago. With AC on in S. Califorina now, I do not smell any so far.

Thanks for your concern though.
