Gen1 Foggy Headlights '98

I was wondering if many of you had problems with fogging or hazy headlights?
My corners and tailights are all pristine, but my headlights have...well...seen better days. Can anyone suggest a good way of cleaning them up? i have already waxed them heavily, to no avail. I even used a mothers clay bar on it to try and get some surface dirt off, but i didnt even notice a difference.
I have heard some tips of sanding the lights down and progressivly working up with grits, but those dammed pointy plastic things sticking out will surely get in the way. anyone else heard of this solution?

thanks for the input.

I bought this stuff for my Olds Silhouette and used it on my 97 XLS to. Was not
impressed with the results. I still would end up buying new headight housings for my Silhouette
and am thinking I might have to for the avalon to. Then again, my Avalon has far better
lighting then the Olds though.

I have the exact same thing. Tried some Plast-X or whatever it's called, with my PC. Helped some, I think I might try it a couple more times more aggressively and see what happens.
