I have a 1998 Avalon w/ 120K on the clock...just got a CEL & it reads "PO446: evaporative emission control system vent control valve circuit"....should I take it to the dealer, take it to a local mechanic or can I just continue to go without fixing? thanks

Talk to your neighbors and friends in the area, find out where they go. Any reputable shop should be able to check it out for you. Its probably an issue with a Vsv sticking or not working.

Toyota was involved with a settlement with the EPA over emissions. This is an emissions related code. Read the website below to see if you qualify for the extended emissions warranty from Toyota.
