Loud squeaky noise from steering wheel?

I have a 98 and every time I go over a bump or turn a corner I am hearing a loud sqeaking sound its either coming from the steering wheel or the suspension possibly? I already know that on the passengers side the suspension makes an unbelievable amount of noise with just normal driving. Anyway what do you think this is and how can I fix it, its driving me nuts?

How many miles on your car?

For my '95, replacing the struts, strut bearings, etc. took care of all of it's weird noises.

I'm coming up on 98,000. By the way, is this dangerous or just a noise issue?

Do a little snooping around the suspension. Push down on the side of the car that makes the most noise. Jack up the tire, grab the tire at 3 and 9 pm and then 6 and 12 and see how much play is there. Remove the tire and look at the suspension items. Also check the stabilizer bar bushings, often a source of noise and clunking when going over speed bumps.

The noise is not necessarily a sign of impending danger.
