95-97 to 98-99 headlight upgrade
I have read a few posts that the 98-99 clear headlights will fit the 95-97 avalons. I tried to put the 98-99 headlights into my 96 last night but didnt have much luck in making them work. at first i tried to bolt the whole 98-99 assembly in but the holes on the bracket didnt match up. I then tried to put the 98-99 housings into the 95-97 bracket and the whole assembly seemed to go in pretty well until i noticed that the headlights werent sitting anywhere near as flush as they had before and i could not get my grill to fit back on. i tried adjusting the screws taht hold the housing into the bracket but wasnt ever able to find the right amount of adjustment to make them fit well enough to bolt everything back in flush.
has anyone else had this much trouble and maybe have a few suggestions or did i just get a bum set of lights?
