99 Avalon Air Bag Question

Hello:

Is there any kind of periodic service or maintenance that needs to be done on the 99 Avalon airbag system, or on airbag systems in general?

Check the backside of the passenger’s sun visor; it may have something on this. If an inspection is required (5 or 10 yrs), it apparently is a visual to see if the front cover(s) are split or damaged. You can determine this for yourself.

The airbag system does a self-check whenever you start the car, if OK the airbag light goes out, if a problem the light stays on.

yeah, i asked around about the same thing because my car turns 10 in a little more than a month, and i was told the same thing by the dealer, if there is no airbag light on, and the airbag cover isnt damaged or anything of that nature, it is ok.
