Bad Power Connection

My 98 XLS has a bad power connection through the cigarette lighter outlet. I plug my radar detector into it, and it'll randomly turn on and off due to an unsteady power flow. The radar detector works fine in all my other cars, so it is just the Avalon. It seems to shut off and on a lot when I am turning. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Bend the contacts to they press against the plug a bit harder. Sounds like a loose fit. If that fails - try pushing a piece of cardboard between the plug and the socket - or replace the socket with a new one (available at most car parts stores).
