Remote range

The remote for my 98 has terrible range, I just had the battery in it replaced too. I have to be probably within 10-20 feet of the car to unlock or lock it, and maybe 5 feet for the trunk or alarm. Any ideas on how I can improve the range?

nope, they're just very early alarm systems that suck. mine does that too. i wish our alarms blinked lights or beeped as well. i have to be close to hear the locks cycle...

Mine blinks the lights, the panic is just ridiculous the range is realistically 10 feet max, why would you even use it within 10 feet. My 02 Lexus ES300 has at least a 200-300 foot range. That is what I would want. Whatever, couple more years with this car then I'm done.

my range is little at best too, maybe on a good day 25ft or so, aparantly its aftermarket but it was installed in 97 (i have a very early 98' model year) so i attribute it to its age and how technologies have changed.

i believe the 95-97 and 98-99 alarms are different. i know the 98-99 blink the lights, i have a 95 and it doesn't. the range is really a joke...

at least it saves my lock cylinders from being worn down...
