transmission fluid change 97 xls

There is no mention of changing the tranny fluid in the owners manual..(just inspect) . I took the tranny dipstick out and wiped it on a white towel. The fluid was grey in color. Shouldnt it be pinkish?.The car has 80k miles.

The manual may not include instructions, but transmission fluid change is in the service schedule @ 15k intervals. And yes, the correct color for Dexron is reddish/pink.
