My 1998 XLS has an intermittent horn. Whenever I push the airbag pad the horn will sometimes work and other times it seems dead. I checked the horn in the grill with a jumper wire and it is OK. Also the relay checks out fine. I took it to the dealership and they wanted $500 to fix it. This seems outrageous for a horn repair. Any ideas.

I have the EXACT SAME PROBLEM ! its ridiculous ! the horn should ALWAYS work, i installed a second horn with a foot button both for fun and as a practical backup, i assume its worn contacts, but i dont want to mess with anything near my airbag, but its been like this for years already. so you are not alone on this one unfortunately....
